Stropping blocks are the essential tool used in the final step of sharpening your knives, taking the edge from sharp to super sharp with just a few passes. There are factory made blocks out there for less and I have purchased and used them in the past, but they never worked well or held up for long. The faces were small and and the leather would peel after just a few uses, so eventually I decided I would make my own. I made the block large enough to use it on chef knives, big hunters, or any other other large blades, but not to large to still use on your smaller knives. These are modeled after the original strop block I made for myself that I use on all of my knives.
